PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Scott, Snyder, Weston Hall - Limited Remodel at Gregory and Peabody Dr. - Phase I
Description of Project: ONE OF SEVERAL PROJECTS AT PEABODY DRIVE, THIS PROJECT IS BASED ON A FEASIBILITY STUDY COMPLETED IN MAY 2007 BY BAILEY EDWARD DESIGN. THE FIRST PHASE, OF THIS TWO PHASED PROJECT WOULD PROVIDE A REMODEL OF THREE OF THE SIX RESIDENCE HALLS, SCOTT, SNYDER AND WESTON WITH A NEW LAUNDRY FACILITY IN EACH OF THE THREE BUILDINGS. THIS WOULD INCLUDE ANY MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL SUPPORT NECESSARY TO HAVE THE LAUNDRY FACILITY UP AND RUNNING WHEN "TIE-IN" OCCURS IN THE FALL OF 2010 (ONCE THE TWO DINING FACILTIES ARE DEMOLISHED). UNIVERSITY HOUSING REQUESTS THAT A PSC BE HIRED TO DESIGN (PERMIT LEVEL), BID AND ADMINISTER THE NECESSARY UPGRADES REQUIRED FOR THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants
  • Licensed to practice as an Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect in the State of Illinois
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible system

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
