PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Data Processing Center Conceptualization
Description of Project: Professional Services are requested to provide a complete Program Statement for a new facility that provides data processing for the University, Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) unit and the Urbana- Champaign Campus, Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES) unit. This will be an all new building incorporating some existing data equipment and some all new data equipment. The facility will be approximately 19,000 net square feet. Within this 19,000 net square feet there will be approximately 14,000 net square feet of data processing machine room. The facility size is to be verified by a room requirements study as part of the program verification. A site analysis and recommendation is also to be a part of the project definition and study.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm at the University of Illinois
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted
  • Prior experience with projects at the University/ College level
  • Overall qualifications of the proposed team of individuals and consultants
  • Prior experience with project of similar scope, size and level of complexity.

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
