PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Conference Center
Description of Project: The Conference Center will provide approximately 37,000 gross square feet with meeting space to serve both the business community as well as the University. The program will include a 7,000 square foot divisible meeting room, a pre-function area, and compliment of breakkout rooms, boardroom, business center, public restrooms, and storage/support areas. The space will be configured to allow for a connection to a future event arena and expansion. A receiving and staging area will be provided to serve the hotel, kitchen, and conference center as part of the project.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted
  • MAFBE participation
  • Experience coordinating design efforts with other firms
  • Demonstrated ability to design within a pre-established budget
  • Experience in design of conference/convention facilities

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
