PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: University of Illinois at Chicago Master Plan Update
Description of Project: This project will consist of the preparation of a master plan update. The objective of the planning process will be to establish a dynamic document to guide the orderly growth and development of the campus in step with the academic and stragic plan for the campus. Utilizing background and program material provided to guide the process, the professional consultant team will execute a work program of traditional campus planning tasks that includes: analysis of existing conditions, analysis of projected future conditions, program reviews, refinement of a preferred concept plan and development of a final master plan with companion design guidelines. In addition, the team will prepare a multi-year campus amenity improvement plan including schematic design level illustrations, cost estimates and implementation schedule.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Appropriateness of project team's disciplines and staff size
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted
  • Experience with similar projects at a university level
  • Prior experience translating strategic thinking and vision staements into physical plans and development guidelines
  • Scope and success of implementing 3 - 5 representative University Master Planning Projects
  • Current committments of proposed staff and firm(s)
  • Minoirty/Female Business enterprise status of prime consultant and subconsultants
  • Internet access and experience with appropriate computer sofware (presentation and graphics)
  • Prior project team experience in urban university master planning in the last five years
  • Prior project team experience in collaborative planning activities
