PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Lab Research Facility Renovation - College of Dentistry
Description of Project: Reconfiguration of spaces on the first, fourth and fifth floors in the College of Dentistry (940) building to provide research operatories & support spaces, laboratories & support offices, conference rooms, and equipment rooms, tissue culture rooms and an animal research facility; including, but not limited to, the design of new demising and partition walls, flooring, lighting and ceiling tile, secured entry (card reader) doors, doors, transoms and vision panels, lab benches and counters, scattered sink stations, fume hoods, X-ray equipment; and, HVAC, sprinkler, plumbing, electrical and data/telecom reconfiguration.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted.
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Services Consultant and sub-consultants.
  • Previous work on LEED projects.
  • Previous experience using NIH/NCRR Grant projects using NIH Grant Policy.

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
