PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Bielfeldt Athletic Administration Building - Hall of Fame Room Remodeling
Description of Project: PROVIDE A NEW SECOND FLOOR TO CREATE NEW ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES WITHIN THE EXISTING TWO STORY HALL OF FAME SPACE. THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE HVAC MODIFICATIONS TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW OFFICES AND TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE IN THE HALL OF FAME SPACE. A FEASIBILITY STUDY WHICH WAS COMPLETED PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FOR THE PROJECT AND INCLUDED TWO SCHEMES FOR THE HVAC. THE SELECTED HVAC SCHEME INCLUDES A NEW HVAC UNIT WHICH WILL BE FED BY THE BUILDING'S EXISTING CHILLED WATER AND STEAM SYSTEMS.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted.
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants with a goal of 20%. Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Business Enterprise Program certification is the basis for determination of MAFBE status.
  • Expertise and success in providing quality audio-visual design, including a project designer that possess a current and valid CTS-D certification with Infocomm International that is in good standing, and that has the appropriate experience with similar projects of the same sizeand complexity, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Expertise and success in construction cost estimating.
  • Expertise and success in scheduling renovation projects in occupied buildings.
  • Expertise and success in providing interior design including FF&E.
