PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Housing Life Safety Code 2000 - Fire Alarm Upgrade and Highrise Sprinkler - Phase V
Description of Project: University Housing requests that an A/E firm be hired to plan, design, and administer the necessary upgrades required for Life Safety improvements at ISR Wardall Hall and ISR Food Service facilities based on a previously completed feasibility study. This will include a fire suppression system and replacement or upgrade of the fire alarm system. Additional scope of the work requested are finish upgrades: replacement of flooring in corridors, repainting student rooms, hallways and lobbies, upgrade of elevator interiors and replacement of hardware on student room doors. The finish upgrades will enhance the addition of new student furniture in student rooms at Wardall Hall under a separate contract slated for August 2007.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm.
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted.
  • Prior experience with projects at the University level.
  • Prior experience with projects of similar scope, size, and complexity.
  • Overall qualifications of the proposed team of consultants.
