PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Freer Hall Install Fire Suppression System
Description of Project: The installation of a fire suppression system in Freer Hall is required by Section 13.1.6 and Table 13.1.6 of the 2000 Edition of the NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code). This section is applicable to existing buildings which are constructed of Types II (000), III (200), or V(000) Construction and have assembly areas with an occupant load of less than 301 persons located on a floor level above the level of exit discharge.

Project Budget: $513,900.00Construction Budget: $370,400.00

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm.
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted.
  • Prior experience with projects at the University level.
  • Prior experience in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Make-up and strength of the project team, including consultants.
  • Overall quality of the projects submitted.
  • Overall project experience.
