PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Magnetic Resonance Imaging System - Building 980
Description of Project: Remodel Suite 102 to receive a 3.0 MRI for research
Project Area: GSF:1NASF:1
Project Budget: $1,329,800.00Construction Budget: $881,220.00

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants
  • Prior Experince of the proposed staff in the design and construction of similar projects
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants with a goal of 20%. Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Business Enterprise Program certification is the basis for determination of MAFBE status.
  • Demostrated experience working with MRI Vendors and coordinating MEP requirements into the contract documents
  • Demonstrated experience designing and detailing special lead lined walls and lead lined doors and frames for radiation protection.
  • Demonstrated experience designing walls and ceilings to special requirements for Radio Frequency (RF) design criteria as required by MRI manufacturer
