PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: 605-C12041 Repurpose Student Center East Pool Facility
Description of Project: Provide Professional Services to remodel the basement level recreation area of the Student Center; East (SCE). The approximate 23,850 GSF area is to be fit-out into a 24-7 tenant-leased Call Center; with support offices, conference rooms, and server room(s). The space shall initially accommodate; approximately 110 phone operators and 12 managerial workstations. It shall be planned to allow a fitout; of another 75 to 80 operators in the future. The fit-out shall include distribution of tenant-specific; ventilation, electrical, plumbing, and information technology systems, as well as modified washrooms; and public access to the leased space. The space will be designed for employees that may be visually; impaired. Space programming is complete and bid documents will be required by January; 2013.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted.
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants with a goal of 20%. Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Business Enterprise Program certification is the basis for determination of MAFBE status.
  • Expertise in design and engineering of 24 hour/day and 7 days/week phone call centers.
  • Team track record in expediting bidding documents and construction administration in short time frames.
  • Examples of interior environments for occupants with impaired vision.
  • Experience with acoustical design for control of external noise sources.
