PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: David Kinley Hall - Classroom Remodeling
Description of Project: THIS PROJECT WILL COVER APPROXIMATELY 15,000 GROSS SQUARE FEET AND ADDRESS GENERAL MODERNIZATION AND REPAIR OF CLASSROOM WALL SURFACES DAMAGED BY WATER INFILTRATION, REMOVAL OF PEDESTAL SEATING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF INTERIOR FLOORING, WALL AND CEILING FINISHES, MOVABLE SEATING AND CLASSROOM LIGHTING. IT WILL ALSO ADDRESS RESTROOM RENOVATIONS INCLUDING SELECTIVE DEMOLITION, ADDITIONAL ADA RESTROOM ACCOMMODATIONS AND SHAFT ENCLOSURES CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE PREVIOUS PHASE OF WORK. THIS PROJECT WILL UTILIZE THE STANDARD DESIGN, BID AND BUILD PROCESS. ; THIS PROJECT FOLLOWS THE DKH HVAC AND ELECTRICAL REMEDIATION PROJECT, WHICH IS CURRENTLY IN DESIGN, AND IS ADDRESSING THE HVAC UNIT AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, MAIN ELECTRICAL SERVICE, EMERGENCY LIGHTING, EXTERIOR REPAIRS, AND LIFE SAFETY DEFICIENCIES THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING.

Project Budget: $1,800,000.00Construction Budget: $1,212,600.00

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects.
  • Overall design quality of the relelvant projects submitted.
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants.
  • Firms experienced in providing coordinated services for repair and renovation projects in occupied facilities.
  • Firms experience in selecting the appropriate interior finishes and functional solutions for repair and renovation projects.

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
