PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Mumford House Restoration
Description of Project: The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus is seeking proposals from qualified Architectural/Engineering firms to provide professional services for design, bidding/award, and construction administration services for the restoration and renovation of The Farm House (also known as The Mumford House). The Mumford House is an 1870 wood frame front and side gabled “L”-shaped (also known as a Gable-Front and Wing) clapboard two-story vernacular neo-Grec, Victorian Gothic revival influenced styled residence, located at 1403 West Lorado Taft Drive, Urbana, adjacent to the Military Axis and the South Quadrangle and immediately west of the new McFarland Memorial Bell Tower. This residence is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of firm, proposed staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience of the proposed project staff in the design and construction of similar projects
  • Overall design quality of the relevant projects submitted.
  • MAFBE participation of Professional Service Consultant and sub-consultants.
  • 5. At least ten years of prior experience with historic preservation restoration projects experienced with the implementation of the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties and Guidelines for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings due to the age and significance of the subject building.
