Description of Project: | DAVID KINLEY HALL (DKH) IS AN 80,773 SF MASONRY ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATION FACILITY CONSTRUCTED IN 1926. MOST AREAS OF THE BUILDING INCLUDING GENERAL USE CLASSROOMS AND OFFICES ARE NOT CURRENTLY SERVED WITH MECHANICAL VENTILATION. THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS INADEQUATE TO SUPPORT NEEDED VENTILATION EQUIPMENT AND ANTICIPATED FUTURE ACADEMIC NEEDS. ; THIS PROJECT IS TO ADDRESS A NUMBER OF IDENTIFIED VFA DEFICIENCIES. THIS PROJECT WILL INCLUDE THE HVAC SYSTEM DESIGN TO SERVE THE FIRST, SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH FLOORS AND INSTALLATION OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT TO SERVE THE 1ST AND 2ND FLOORS OF DKH. INCLUDED ARE AIR HANDLING UNITS, DUCTWORK AND OTHER HVAC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM COMPONENTS, PROVISIONS FOR CONNECTION TO THE CAMPUS CHILLED WATER SYSTEM, NEW TEMPERATURE CONTROLS, AND A HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM. ; A NEW ELECTRICAL MAIN SERVICE, EMERGENCY LIGHTING THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING AND ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL WORK WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED. IN AREAS OF NEW DUCTWORK INSTALLATION (FLOORS 1 AND 2), A NEW CEILING SYSTEM AND ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHTING WILL BE INSTALLED ADDRESSING THESE VFA DEFICIENCIES. ; IT IS ANTICIPATED A LATER PROJECT WILL PROVIDE AN HVAC SYSTEM FOR FLOORS 3 AND 4. ; THIS PROJECT WILL BE DELIVERED BY THE DESIGN, BID BUILD METHOD. |
