PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: Social Work Lease Space Build-Out In ECCC Phase II
Description of Project: WITH THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION AND OCCUPANCY OF THE EAST CAMPUS COMMERCIAL CENTER (ECCC) PHASE I, THE CAMPUS HAS AGREED TO PROCEED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECCC PHASE II. LIKE PHASE I, THE NEW DEVELOPMENT WILL BE A MIXED-USE FACILITY HAVING BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND RETAIL SPACES CREATING AN ATTRACTIVE URBAN ENVIRONMENT ON THE URBANA CAMPUS. THE CAMPUS WILL LEASE THE ENTIRE SECOND FLOOR, 35,000 GSF, FOR CAMPUS SURGE SPACE AND THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK. CURRENTLY, THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK IS SCATTERED AMONG SEVERAL ANTIQUATED BUILDINGS AND THIS SPACE WILL ALLOW THEM TO CONSOLIDATE INTO ONE LOCATION. FURTHER, THE BUILD-OUT WILL ACCOMMODATE THEIR OFFICE FUNCTIONS, RESEARCH EFFORTS, AND INSTRUCTIONAL NEEDS IN ADDITION TO FULFILLING THEIR MISSION OF PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm at the University of Illinois
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted
  • Prior experience with projects at the University/College level
  • Overall qualifications of the proposed team of individuals and consultants
  • Prior experience with project of similar scope, size and level of complexity.
  • Prior experience with build-out projects in leased space.
