PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from professional services consultants to provide professional services in connection with the following project:
Project Name: LAR - Upgrade Kitchen Exhaust & Mechanical Systems
Description of Project: University Housing requests that an A/E firm be hired to plan, design, and administer the necessary upgrades required for kitchen improvements at Lincoln Avenue Residence Hall based on a previously completed feasibility study. The kitchen exhaust is more than twenty years old and unable to operate in an efficient manner. Additionally, more equipment has been added over the years resulting in placement that is not under existing hoods. The total exhaust of air is greater than the supply of air resulting in conditioned air from elsewhere in the facility to be exhausted.

Note: The project will be administered using the Owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximaize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team colllaboration in management and interaction, as well as a team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Minimum user requirements are as follows:

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an (Architect, Engineer, or Landscape Architect) in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible System.

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Current commitments of proposed staff and firm.
  • Overall design quality of the projects submitted.
  • Prior experience with projects at the University level.
  • Prior experience with projects of similar scope, size, and complexity.
  • Overall qualifications of the proposed team of consultants.

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectual, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
